Endometrial cancer

Endometrial cancer, or uterine cancer, develops in the layer of cells that lines the uterus.

Risk factors
  • Hormonal changes: Fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone.

  • Duration of menstruation: Early onset or late menopause.

  • Absence of pregnancy: Greater risk in women without pregnancy.

  • Advanced age: Increased risk after menopause.

  • Obesity: Hormonal imbalance.

  • Hormonal treatment for breast cancer: Tamoxifen.

  • Lynch syndrome: Increased risk of colon and endometrial cancer.
