Privacy policy

The following policy is currently being reviewed by the RGOQ Executive and is subject to change at any time.

Introduction
The Regroupement des gynécologues oncologues du Québec (RGOQ) is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information in accordance with Quebec's Law 25 (An Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information) and other applicable privacy laws and regulations in Quebec and in Canada.


Definitions
Personal Information: Any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.

 

Collection of Personal Information
RGOQ collects personal information only for specific, lawful purposes related to its activities. We will inform individuals of the purposes for which we collect personal information at the time of collection or as soon as practicable thereafter.

 

Consent
We will obtain clear and informed consent from individuals before collecting, using, or disclosing their personal information, unless otherwise permitted by law. Individuals may withdraw their consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.


Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
Personal information will be used and disclosed solely for the purposes for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required or permitted by law. We may share personal information with our trusted service providers and partners who assist us in carrying out our activities, provided they agree to protect the information in compliance with this policy.


Data Security
We implement reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Employees and contractors are trained in privacy and security best practices and are bound by confidentiality obligations.


Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that poses a significant risk of harm to individuals, we will promptly notify both the appropriate authorities and affected individuals in accordance with legal requirements.


Access and Correction
Upon request, individuals have the right to access their own personal information held by RGOQ. Individuals may also request corrections to their personal information if it is inaccurate or incomplete.


Data Retention
Personal information will be retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. When personal information is no longer needed, it will be securely disposed of.


Cross-Border Data Transfers
We will not transfer personal information outside of Quebec or Canada unless we take steps to ensure it is protected in a manner consistent with this policy and Law 25.
